- Start date: 16/08/2020 10:30 am
- Duration: 6 Hours
- Sailing from: Ipswich
A really interesting day sail, exploring the Rivers Orwell and Stour. Join the barge outside the Old Customs House in Ipswich Dock, an area bustling with cafes, shops and boats. Once you’ve headed out through the dock, you experience approx 15 minutes in the lock before heading onto the River Orwell. You will enjoy going under the Orwell bridge, past Woolverstone, Pin Mill – one of the most painted places on the East Coast, and to Shotley near the mouth of the river, with it’s old naval training buildings. You head past Felixstowe with it’s huge container ships and cranes and then through Harwich Harbour and into the River Stour. The Stour is a very pretty river with sights such as the fantastic architecture of the Holbrook Royal Hospital School, Grayson Perrys’ Dream House and the grand beach huts at Wrabness.
Fully catered including coffee and biscuits, hot buffet lunch, tea and homemade cake
