Essex as you have never seen it, a landscape of wide open skies, salt marshes, traditional boats and birds. A long day with tides, as you take the ebb tide down river and then come back up on the next flood tide. One of the best cruises for experiencing the barge under full sail for most of the day.
Typically you head down the River Blackwater past Osea Island, Goldhanger Creek, Tollesbury Creek and West Mersea. You will catch a glimpse of St Peter’s on the Wall at Bradwell as we head out of the Blackwater past East Mersea and into the River Colne at Brightlingsea. Sometimes we anchor for lunch in Pyefleet Creek before heading back up the Blackwater and home.
Boarding details are sent by e-mail 4 weeks before a trip or when booking (check your junk folder). Be ready to board the barge 1/2 hour before sailing. Search for car parks near Maldon CM9 5HN, Ipswich IP4 1FH, Brightlingsea CO7 ODY, Harwich CO12 3HH
