Join our resident historian Stephen Nunn for a fascinating day out and find out more about the history of the Thames sailing barge, the port of Ipswich, the river and points of interest en route.
Head out of Ipswich Dock (once Europe’s largest grain terminal) and onto the Orwell, past large country houses, Woolverstone, Pin Mill, HMS Ganges at Shotley and into Harwich Harbour. We then continue into the River Stour past Holbrook and towards Wrabness and Mistley before turning round.
Included: Mid morning Coffee & Biscuits; Hot Buffet Lunch of Rosemary Chicken, New Potatoes, Vegetables, Chocolate Brownie with Fruits & Cream; Tea and Homemade Cake.
