During the winter months, the saltmarshes and mud flats of the River Crouch are home to many visiting winter birds. Join the barge at North Fambridge Marina and head down river past Burnham on Crouch and RSPB Wallasea Island to the River Roach, a small creek with it’s own seal colony. Expect to see impressive flocks of wild fowl and waders and maybe even raptors. Experts from Swallow Birding (www.swallowbirding.co.uk) are on board to help spot and identify. The barge has central heating, and included is a late hot lunch.
Lunch Hearty Homemade Soup with Granary Bread, Homemade Chocolate Brownie with Forest Fruits and cream. The bar serves hot, soft and alcoholic drinks.
