Thames Sailing Barges make unique venues for Weddings & Receptions!

Our historic sailing vessels provide a wonderful and unusual setting for a truly memorable wedding reception, offering a high quality and spacious venue without losing their essential maritime characters.

Imagine your wedding guests standing on the deck of one of these fine old ships with a backdrop of the historic Quay at Maldon in Essex on the River Blackwater or at Ipswich in Suffolk overlooking the Old Customs House on the River Orwell. Barges are also available in London at Tower Bridge on the River Thames.

We can offer you 21 years experience of organising wedding receptions and parties to make your day the one you dreamed of.

Perhaps you would like to include a short sail as part of your wedding reception, or just have the barge moored at the quayside. Many couples choose to sail with 50 guests and then invite further guests once back from sailing or for an evening party. Once underway you feel virtually no movement, so you needn’t worry about any guests feeling uncomfortable, and the amount of space on deck will reassure even the most nervous of landlubbers.
